More Context Search

I mentioned a few context search engines yesterday. I found another one today. It is called Roll Your Own Search. Here is why you need to look at RollYo.

Rollyo puts the power of Yahoo! Search in your hands, by giving you the tools to create your own personal search engines – with no programming required. All you have to do is pick the sites you want to search, and we’ll create a custom search engine for you.

You specify a list of sites in your search roll and all your searches will be in the context of the sites your specified. It has a very simple, easy to use interface. I was amazed at some of the Highrollers who already use this service. Still puzzled why I did not find this earlier.

  1. Have you tried the Eurkester powered swicki? Swicki ( is a different kind of search engine that allows anyone to create deep, focused searches on topics you care about. Unlike other search engines, you and your community have total control over the results and it uses the wisdom of crowds to improve search results. This search engine, or swicki, can be published on your site. Your swicki presents search results that you’re interested in, pulls in new relevant information as it is indexed, and organizes everything for you in a neat little customizable widget you can put on your web site or blog, complete with its very own buzz cloud that constantly updates to show you what are hot search terms in your community.

  2. Thanks for bringing it up Petra. I tried Swicki and I am pretty impressed. In my previous blog about Context Search, I mentioned a few others.

This entire field is very interesting with lots of innovations. Another one of my favorites is Recently the site seems to be overloaded. Shows that it has becoming popular.
