The 13 thinking tools of the world’s most creative people, according to the authors, are:

  1. abstracting,
  2. analogizing,
  3. body thinking (body images),
  4. dimensional thinking,
  5. empathizing (feeling empathy with objects, processes, others),
  6. forming patterns,
  7. imaging (thinking of things by using mental images of them, whether realistic or “distorted”),
  8. modeling,
  9. observing,
  10. playing,
  11. recognizing patterns,
  12. synthesizing (combining, etc.),
  13. transforming.
