Play to Learn and Find

The Root-Bernsteins maintain that the key is not to just slave away at the piano or the easel, but to “find the links between everything in your life, the connections that others miss.” You may not unlock the origins of the universe, but you’ll see the world in a different way.

Notes:

Have been working on a “play to learn” portal (a project for a friend) and what I discover about play is amazing. Have been watching students learn and feel that play infused learning can make a lot of difference.

One of the experiments I tried recently with a group of first year Engineering students (of different disciplines) involves about 3-4 games of challenge and discovery with amazing results. The most heartening was the increased level of interest and active participation by all.
